Description:
Abstract:
This chapter presents the thermodynamic processes of the atmosphere as well as the fundamental laws of the gases that govern it. Particular emphasis is given on the vertical balance of forces and the atmospheric stability. The two laboratory applications at the end of the chapter help the students to understand the conditions of stability and instability, through thermodynamic diagrams and charts.
