Abstract: |
In this chapter there is a presentation of the initial and most popular implementations of blockchain technology, Bitcoin and Ethereum. Their special features and their mode of operation are presented, with an emphasis on free access to them, the consensus techniques they use, but also an analysis of their main differences (e.g., creation of decentralized applications and smart contracts). The purpose is to become familiar with the two basic implementations, often used as references, and to enhance your knowledge of them in selected areas in the chapters that follow.
