In this chapter there is a presentation of the main features of blockchain technology, as well as the individual methods and techniques that were uniquely combined to create it. In particular, the advantages and disadvantages of a blockchain-based solution are analyzed, the main categories of blockchain networks found today are described and a series of questions are answered that help to decide whether or not to apply this technology (in each specific use case).
