| Abstract: |
This chapter introduces software development and software projects. Basic definitions of agile project management and agility in management are given. Furthermore, a brief historical overview of the agile methods is presented along with the basic features of each method. Then the Agile Manifesto is presented, along with a comparison of traditional methods with agile ones. The chapter closes with the presentation of the advantages and disadvantages of agile methods.
