Description:
Abstract:
A commonly accepted definition of social enterprise states that “a social enterprise implements classical commercial strategies aimed at maximizing the positive impact on society.” At the same time, it can be a profit or non-profit organization. However, the core of such an organization is its strong social character, which is its essential acquaintance, often prevailing over its profitability. Based on this definition, this chapter seeks to clarify the differences between a social enterprise and a "contractual" enterprise and to present the types of social enterprises available in our country. A section of the capital is devoted to the characteristics and motivations of the person who is socially active and seeks to clarify the concept of the social entrepreneur. A significant part of this chapter is devoted to the socio-economic impact of social entrepreneurship, while an effort is made to identify the impact of social enterprises both locally and nationally or even internationally.
