| Abstract: |
The Bavarian Library Network (BVB) and the Berlin-Brandenburg Cooperative Library Network (KOBV) published their joint catalog B3Kat in 2011 as open data in MARCXML format and as open linked data in RDF/XML format. In this chapter, we present the motivations for data sharing by the partners involved, the specific decision-making, and the implementation process in the relevant consortia. In addition, we discuss the technical implementation of the data offer, the resulting usage options, and the response to the data offered available since December 2011.
