Abstract: |
Maize belongs to the cereal grains of warm climates and is a plant of great economic importance worldwide. The plant’s botanical characteristics and its biological cycle are directly related to its adaptability and good agricultural practice. This chapter includes a description of the root system, stem, leaves, inflorescences and kernel of the plant. Its developmental stages from germination to maturation are described in detail.
