Abstract:
This chapter examines aggregates as a basic component of concrete. The appropriate particle size gradations of the concrete aggregates and the characteristics of the particle size fractions (coarse and fine aggregates) defining these gradations are presented. Finally, the effect of fine aggregates on the composition of the various gradations is discussed.
