Abstract: |
Estimating lens power is a fundamental requirement for anyone dealing with prescription lenses. Modern focimeters offer many options in most settings and have become sophisticated instruments, with many fully automated versions available. The focimeter is now the most common instrument used to measure the corrective lens and comes in many different versions. After that basic uses, measurements and settings of the focuser as well as the alternative use of test lenses for neutralization and power matching are presented, while the use of a spherometer to calculate the final power of a lens is also discussed.
