This chapter generalizes the study of a point particle to the study of a system of particles that interact with each other, but generally also experience forces outside the system. The study is done through the centre of mass, its motion and the motion of the particles relative to it. The two-body problem is studied in detail, as well as scattering and collisions between two bodies.
