Abstract:
The basic techniques for dealing with hyperbolic type equations, i.e. the equations that control wave propagation in various natural environments, are analyzed. The differences that exist during wave propagation in one, two and three dimensions are compared in detail. Particular emphasis is placed on energy distribution issues.
