The present chapter takes a close look at the topic of gender in education. It explores how gender affects the learning process, shaping students’ identities and governing the relations among all interacting subjectivities in the classroom, ultimately influencing students’ performance. The chapter points to the intersectional power dynamics that operate in class, introducing readers to key concepts and principles of feminist pedagogy and placing emphasis on the function of gender in English language education. The aim is to provide prospective teachers of English with the necessary tools that will enable them to foster gender equality and inclusivity in the classroom.
